As a continuation of local efforts to help homeowners and businesses impacted by the Thursday, May 12, 2022, tornado, the Castlewood Area Recovery Fund is now prepared to accept applications from those who wish to be considered for assistance. Funding is available to households or businesses located within the Castlewood School District.
To begin the application process, affected households or businesses must call 211. A Helpline Center staff member will assist in completing a Damage Assessment. Immediate and Long-Term Funding will not be provided if 211 reporting is not completed.
Relief is available in two areas for those filing a 211 Damage Assessment:
IMMEDIATE NEEDS – Application deadline June 10, 2022
Funds may be available to households or businesses to help cover losses from the May 12, 2022, tornado. You can download the online IMMEDIATE NEEDS application by accessing the link on either the Castlewood Community Foundation Facebook page or at www.castlewoodcity.com. Printed applications are also available at Citizens State Bank and First Premier Bank in Castlewood. Printed applications must be mailed to Castlewood Community Foundation, PO Box 263, Castlewood, SD 57223 and postmarked by June 10, 2022. Please do not apply if your immediate needs do not create a financial hardship. This will allow more money for Long-Term needs.
LONG-TERM NEEDS – Application deadline July 15, 2022
Funds for Long-Term Needs may be available to households and businesses based on needs of each applicant and available funds. You can download the online LONG-TERM NEEDS application by accessing the link on either the Castlewood Community Foundation Facebook page or at www.castlewoodcity.com. Printed applications are also available at Citizens State Bank and First Premier Bank in Castlewood. Printed applications must be mailed to Castlewood Community Foundation, PO Box 263, Castlewood, SD 57223 and postmarked by July 15, 2022.
